December 15 About MeI have been Sailing since the age of 8, working my way through the RYA Youth Scheme. I became a Dinghy Instructor at 18 and a Senior and Advanced Instructor at 22. I have worked three seasons in the Meditteranean, clocking up over 500 hours Instructing.
I have been Team Racing since 1998 including the last four years on the University circuit where I was the Captain of Leeds University Sailing Team from 2003 - 2005.
I am now a member of West Kirby and Grafham Water Sailing Clubs and qualified as a Club Racing Coach (Team Racing) in Sept 2005. I have recently qualified as a National Umpire after Umpiring at the British Open Championships for The Wilson Trophy in May 2006 and passing written and practical assessments.
Over the Summer I started sailing an International Moth (Design: Skippy 1) and have been progressing well due to spending a lot of time on the water, both sailing and swimming! I am now starting to race it and planning my assault on the hydrofoiling branch of this class. Also over the Summer I qualified as a Mountain Bike Leader and a Powerboat Instructor. Comments (3)
