About Me

I have been Sailing since the age of 8, working my way through the RYA Youth Scheme. I became a Dinghy Instructor at 18 and a Senior and Advanced Instructor at 22. I have worked three seasons in the Meditteranean, clocking up over 500 hours Instructing.

I have been Team Racing since 1998 including the last four years on the University circuit where I was the Captain of Leeds University Sailing Team from 2003 - 2005.

I am now a member of West Kirby and Grafham Water Sailing Clubs and qualified as a Club Racing Coach (Team Racing) in Sept 2005. I have recently qualified as a National Umpire after Umpiring at the British Open Championships for The Wilson Trophy in May 2006 and passing written and practical assessments.

Over the Summer I started sailing an International Moth (Design: Skippy 1) and have been progressing well due to spending a lot of time on the water, both sailing and swimming! I am now starting to race it and planning my assault on the hydrofoiling branch of this class. Also over the Summer I qualified as a Mountain Bike Leader and a Powerboat Instructor.

If any club or organisation is thinking of using Ed as a coach for their squad, stop thinking and act now!

In all my years of sailing in both fleet and team racing i have never come across anyone that can pass on knowledge and experience in the same profesional and curtious manor as Ed has done.
I owe a vast amount of my sailing knowledge to him and as a direct result of his tuition i have progressed to become a more competent sailor in all aspects of the sport.

Ed has coached our 1st's, 2nd's and Ladies teams here at Leeds with instantly noticable effects!

We shall definatly be requesting him back for further coaching!

Hello Ed! Its your favourite ANUSC Chairman here!
Just thought I'd stick a link to ur space and email the link to all the ANUSC Uni Captains!
Shame you can't make it to the joint ANUSC SUSA ladies qualifier.
Its a real shame we're not going to Ireland, Emily was interested, you could have slid onto the team, even though ur an old boy, but that still means we would be down a helm and 2 crews.
Anyway i think i'll be able to get an ANUSC team to SUSA champs, i'll save you a space if i can!
Right Take it easy.
See u at the ANUSC champs!
